- To make the non-woven polypropylene, colored pellets are mixed with the polypropylene product at a high heat then the material is cooled and put through a machine that rolls it onto a roll similar to fabric
- There are virtually no greenhouse gas emissions in the making of the material. It can be made to any specific length and width for each order, so there is usually no waste.
- Polypropylene can be recycled … Recently a bad batch of bags had to be destroyed; all were shredded by a plastics company and then reused to make a concrete product.
- Paper bags emit a high amount of greenhouse gases in their production.
- Calico/cotton bags require a large amount of water to produce, as well as emitting high amounts of greenhouse gases.
- It is a very simple procedure to make non-woven polypropylene. It is strong, can be made into different weight/thickness depending on the intended use of the material and it is very durable.
- Non- woven polypropylene is water repellent and so avoids bacteria and odors.
- It is not affected by chemicals or solvents
- Complies with FDA regulations.
- Contains no toxic materials, no odor and will not cause an allergic reaction to human skin.
- All dyes used are non harmful and are colorfast.
- The base is made from nylon or P.E.T.
